Belmont Library

library

Belmont citizens are justifiably proud of their new “State of the Art” Library that opened its doors in 2006. It was a collaborative effort of the City of Belmont, the Friends of the Library and the community of Belmont.

Belmont Library users value “lifelong learning.” This is reflected in the bustling activity that takes place daily as children, young adults, and adults seek information for school reports, health, parenting, travel, financial planning, money management, home improvement, etc. The Library is an active “information center” with more than just children and adult books. Newspapers, magazines, cassettes, CDs, DVDs, books on tape, business directories, consumer materials, investment resources, tax forms, videos, community information, public access computers, computer catalogs, Phonedisc and other CD Rom products, public access to the Internet, study tables and more round out the resources available to today’s citizens.

As a branch of the San Mateo County Library system and a member of the Peninsula Library system, a Belmont Library card gives users access to all 32 public or community college libraries in San Mateo County. There is an adjacent children’s play area,
Belameda Park.
